A suicide cleanup may involve small quantities of fluid removal from a hard surface. Or, a suicide cleanup may require total decontamination of a dwelling, extensive cleaning and recleaning. Suicide tends to leave an extraordinary amount of human bio-waste when the deceased remaines down for too long. "Too long" means that decomposition may begin. Once decomposition begins, fluids migrate into fabrics, across the floor, and move up (wick) walls.

Suicide cleanup is usally expensive for most people, and often too expensive for low-income households. Homeowners' insurance may apply in many cases. It is best to first call your homeowner's insurance company to find out if funds are available for a suicide cleanup.
